What To Do On A First Date When The Guy Is A Clear No

Most of us have been on a first date with a guy and we knew with no doubt that it was a crystal clear “heck no” the second we laid eyes on him.

Whether it was someone you met on Plenty of Fish or it was a blind date that your girlfriend set up.

The guy ended up not being what you’d hoped and he’s just NOT a contender for dating you.

What’s a girl to do?

Sit through a coffee date for an hour or politely excuse yourself and leave?

You hate wasting your time and to be honest, it would be a waste of makeup plus your blowout looks amazing.

Can sh*t be turned into gold?

Yes, absolutely as long as the guy is decent and able to hold a conversation.

If your safety and emotional well-being aren’t at stake, why not stick around and make the best of it?

Here are some ways you can mine for gold and turn the experience into a positive.

  • Practice your feminine dating tools.

    He’s not your future partner.

You’re not invested with this guy, so why not try your flirting skills?

  • See what happens.

Share a funny anecdote by turning it into a story and see how it lands.

It will help you refine your dating skills and up your confidence.

  • So, even though this guy isn’t your One, he may still be a great guy for… someone you know!

Why not be a matchmaker and set him up with one of your single girlfriends?

  • You can say something like “I’m enjoying my time with you, yet I think we both know we’re not a match. I have an amazing girlfriend. Would you be willing to meet her?”

You’d be surprised at how smoothly this can go.

And it’s possible that HE may have a friend who’d be a better date for you.

Why not stay in touch and add him to your network?

Have an open conversation about your dating experiences.

Gain some insights about dating from the opposite sex.

You can ask questions about HIS experiences and struggles.

You’d be amazed at how interesting a frank discussion can be.

Rather than grit your teeth over the standard small talk why not go for the REAL talk?

Disappointing dates are part of the dating experience.

You always have the choice to make the most of it.

I know that some dating coaches will tell you it’s perfectly fine to get up and leave.

And I don’t disagree with them entirely.

However, you can be classy about the whole situation.

After all, the man on the date showed up for you, so why not be a classy human being and stick around for 30 minutes?

It truly is amazing what you could end up getting out of the situation.
